2025-2026 CoMMunity Partners

We are excited to announce our 2025-2026 CoMMunity Partners! The MUSIC Matters CoMMunity Partnership was launched in the fall of 2017 and has since been committed to providing grant money and support to various University of Michigan student organizations, chosen by MUSIC Matters members at our annual Pitchfest event. After an exciting Pitchfest where we learned about different student organizations and their missions, we are delighted to have selected Kesem and The Quito Project to receive our $2,500 grants and to collaborate with us throughout the 2025-2026 school year.

Kesem at the University of Michigan

Kesem is a nonprofit organization that provides year-round support for children and teens impacted by a parent’s cancer. Kesem offers free week-long summer camps run by undergraduate volunteers. The summer camp provides a safe, supportive environment where campers can enjoy activities like rock climbing, tie-dye, and “messy games” while building confidence and forming lasting friendships with peers who share similar experiences.

The Quito Project at the University of Michigan

The Quito Projects aims to minimize the achievement gap for students in Quito, Ecuador, by providing summer tutoring programs, free healthcare, and nutritional meals. Undergraduates help design the program’s curriculum to strengthen understanding of core academic subjects, while boosting the students self-confidence. University of Michigan students have been organizing and participating in this program since 2004 and TQP has evolved to support an array of projects in public health, social work, and education for over 8,000 community members.

Thank you to all organizations that applied and everyone who came to Pitchfest. We are so excited to work with both Kesem and The Quito Project this year!
